Blog #60: Feeling Stuck? 9 Sure Fire ways to get Inspired! By Tazeem Jamal

In business we all get stuck, feel uninspired or worse doubt ourselves. When this happens, stop, take a deep breathe and find new ways to get a different take on your business. Fall is a great time to do this, take advantage of a slow down, to not panic but prepare!

Here are 9 tips to help you get unstuck:
1.W rite a hand written note or a Thank you card to a client or a colleague. The impact of the written word is powerful. Think about the last time you got anything hand written in the mail? I know I LOVE getting cards in the mail and I know your clients would be thrilled as well. Sometimes we send cards to inspire them to come in and do business with us, but sometimes a card for no reason is the best reason.
Thank you client !
2. Host a giveaway to your audience, nothing like getting something for FREE right? It’s a great way to engage current and potential clients, especially on Social Media.

3. Take some downtime to prep for the upcoming Fall Season in your business. When was the last time you updated your marketing materials? Freshen things up! Have you added a new social media platform recently that you could share with your audience? Also, check on supplies and create promotions in advance. The holiday season is literally around the corner, always better to have things done, or at least thought out and then you are not scrambling last minute.  Are there any events or joint venture opportunities that you could work on?
4. Take testimonials from happy clients and share them across your platforms or in an email. Third Party credibility is powerful. It’s always so much better when someone else “Toots your horn” for you and shares how great you are. Keep in mind with privacy laws, you need to have their permission to do so. I often find at my skincare studio, clients are okay with me using their first name, last initial and their city.
5. Unsubscribe from emails that no longer serve you. We all can get caught up and sign up for things that we thought at the time might help us get inspiration or grow, but think about the last time you actually read any of them? Removing these extra emails coming into your inbox will alleviate the stress of reading them and cluttering up your inbox
6. Volunteer your time or donate to a cause or organization, that you value in your community. There is no better way to put yourself in front of a new potential audience than to network.
7. Take the downtime to learn something new to help you move forward in your business. Do you want to better understand a Social Media platform, could you upgrade a system in your business or could you add a new service or product that your audience really could benefit from?
8. Create a Social Media Calendar. Think about the time of year and figure out what does your audience need to learn about. Create posts and set them to go ahead of time, so when you get busy you are not caught in a bind. I often hear from business owners, “I don’t have time everyday to write and post”. I agree it is time consuming, but short consistent engagements are much better than a long post every two weeks. Decide what you want to post and when you want them to go out. There are many options to get super organised if you post on multiple platforms. Check out #Hootsuite or #Coschedule for some ideas to plan your marketing strategy. Remember you do NOT have to do ALL of them. Go where your clients hang out, master a few and use them consistently.

9. Try something new, like a Video or a Vlog (video blog) instead of a written one. I know it can be unnerving, but pushing your boundaries is all great learning. Practice it a few times before you post it to go live and remember it’s not about a scripted perfect delivery, it’s the learning that your audience gets and how real you are, that will help you connect deeply with your audience. As you know, people do business with those they like, know and trust.
